ParentSquare for Communications
The Sunnyside School District uses ParentSquare as our notification and messaging system.
Create your account by using the email address or phone number that is on file with your child's school and used in PowerSchool Parent Portal. It will automatically connect to your child or children within the app.

How To Sign Up
-
Go to the ParentSquare website. You can also install the ParentSquare app on your smartphone by downloading it from the Apple Store or Google Play. Follow the prompts to sign up.
Use the email or the phone number that you provided to your school and is in PowerSchool Parent Portal to set up your account. Your email/phone number must match contact details in the school's database for this to work.
If your contact details aren't recognized, contact your school to get them added. After they update your information in their database, the new contact details will appear in ParentSquare after the next daily sync, and you will be able to create an account.

Please contact the Communications Office at 509-836-8703 or at holly.ohler@sunnysideschools.org if you have any questions!
Emergency Notifications
As a school district, we strive to provide the most complete and in-time information possible during emergency and inclement weather situations. Below is a complete list of methods we use for communicating messages to staff and families.
Inclement Weather: Messages posted to District website, Facebook page, local news stations, and text alerts to staff and families. Be sure to read our Inclement Weather Message, which outlines our cancellation and delay process.
Illness-related Closures: In this new era of COVID, there may be instances were a school or schools may need to close. This information will be communicated through robo-call, text alert, and email through ParentSquare, the District website, and our District's Facebook page.
Emergency Situations (Secure and Teach, Lock Down, Shelter in Place, Evacuation and Reunification): Messages posted to District website, Facebook and Twitter, text alert sent to staff and families. In the event that more information needs to be sent, a robo-call will be used with a recorded message which can be accessed through ParentSquare.
