Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment

The Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Department focuses on providing quality professional learning for staff and comprehensive instructional material for students.

This department is divided into two sections which are overseen by Angel Carrizales, Executive Director of Instructional Leadership: Elementary, and Sandra Ortiz, Executive Director of Instructional Leadership: Secondary. 

Angel oversees Math, English Language Arts, College, Career, and Life Readiness, our district's Math and ELA Leadership Teams and Instructional Coaches. She also oversees AVID, District-wide professional development, the Highly Capable Program, and Gear-Up.

Sandra oversees State and Federal Grants, School Improvement, Family Engagement, Migrant, Bilingual, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Instructional Tech and Assessment DAC.
