Highly Capable Program
The Sunnyside School District's Highly Capable Program strives to fit the needs of our students with unique learning needs through accelerated pace, autonomous learning, greater depth and breadth of content and the flexibility to adapt learning environments.
The Highly Capable Referral Window is now open for the 2024-2025 school year.
Sunnyside School District is now accepting applications for the Highly Capable Program for students currently attending kindergarten through eleventh grade.
Highly capable students are students who perform or show potential for performing at significantly advanced academic levels when compared with others of their age, experiences, or environments.
If you would like your student to be tested and considered for this program, please contact your child’s school to pick up a referral packet or follow the links below. The referral window will be open from November 6 through December 13, 2023. Your student will then be screened and possibly tested during the weeks of January 16, 2024 through February 1, 2024.
Placement into the Highly Capable program will take effect during the 2024-25 school year.
