1:1 Technology Initiative

1:1 means one device (Chromebook, laptop, iPad, etc.) for each student!

Sunnyside High School has begun the first phase of our 1:1 Technology Initiative, which has provided all juniors and seniors with individual Google Chromebooks and digital resources to support learning.

The 1:1 Technology Initiative is directly tied to the Sunnyside School District’s goal that all students will have the technological skills to be successful at college and career levels. We believe access to digital devices at school and at home will allow learning to continue in this technology-rich and globally connected world.

In preparation for this opportunity, the Sunnyside School District Technology Department has increased wireless capacity at Sunnyside High School and upgraded network connections to support multiple devices. Additionally, because safe online behavior is a priority, content filters have been installed on each device that routes students through the school district’s server even when students are off campus.

Staff will continue to develop the materials, plans, and resources needed to facilitate and inspire student learning.

Any questions or concerns you would like answered prior to the informational session can be directed to SHS Principal Ryan Maxwell at 509-837-2601 or ryan.maxwell@sunnysideschools.org.
